Street Fight: How to avoid a fight

I have been kicking around posting blogs about how to defend yourself on the streets … for those that are not looking for trouble but don’t want to be caught off guard when something does happen. So here it goes: First of all lets remember that street fights are nothing like a fight in a ring. In a street fight anything goes, no mater what, and sometimes the smallest of tricks can save your life. Also the information I give is my own opinion, based off things I have read about and researched mixed with common sense, So while some of my idea’s are well thought out, they are still just that *ideas* nothing more.

  • First thing you need to learn how to avoid them, because its always better to avoid a fight then to get mixed up in something you could have avoided right? So lets say you somehow find yourself in a bad part of town with NO way to get out but your own two feet. You know there are gangs that hang out in the area. what do you do? Well the best way to get out of there is to act totally and completely insane, talk to yourself and make strange faces, walk around in a aimless manor, drooling, stumbling, looking around quickly with wide eyes are some of the many possibilities. I know of a man that ended up getting lost in a bad part of town and did this very thing and he said he saw a large group of tattoo wearing teens cross the street just so that they did not have to walk close to him.
  • Also stay away from dark places (NO DUH! :P) also stay away from graffiti, graffiti is used by gangs to mark their territory, you only go there if you are looking for trouble.
  • Look like you belong, If you have to walk the streets, don’t look like an outsider. there is a reason tourists are told to try to not look to much like tourists, because thieves, target those that are “out of place” and might have more cash on them then the average Joe, its the same reason rental car companies have random license plate numbers rather then ones all starting or ending in the same thing, when thieves could distinguish a rental car they would target it. same idea on the streets: don’t look like a tourist, try to blend in.
  • Try to hide any blue or red on any of your cloths, often gangs will distinguish themselves with set colors. try to look as boring as possible.
  • If you are held up, 80% of the time it will be for money. Your life is worth more then whats in your wallet, give the money up (if you have a large amount of cash with you it would be smart to put most of it in your shoe, leaving about 20$ in the wallet itself, also hide credit cards and especially debit cards somewhere else safe on your person).*if you are part of the law in any way, hide your ID because thieves have been known to panic and kill the person if they  find that they are somehow connected with the law.
  • Also if they ask for your wallet/purse, *unless they have a gun, throw the wallet/purse in a obvious direction and then run in the other direction (often the thief will be over come with greed and even if he/she had intended harm to you, they will give it up to get the money quickly).
  • But the best defense against a street fight is to not be there to begin with (duh!). Don’t put yourself in a place where it even a possible scenario.

Now that I got that out of the way, next time I will go over basic hand to hand combat and ways to overcome an opponent. XD

… >_<

Not enough strength to live life, not enough strength to end it … this is definitely the most miserable place to be >_<-Me

Bow down america to your god: Entertainment

We as Americans love entertainment. The average american spends about 4,516$ a year on entertainment. If you figure that there are over 309 million people in america then american spends about 1.4 trillion a year on entertainment. Not to mention the TIME we spend on entertainment. Ill use my self as an example:

I love music and I listen to massive amounts of it too. I have a last.fm account which uses your Itunes library and shows you statistics. I currently over a 3 year period have over 60,000 plays on all my songs, If you figure that each song is about 4 minutes long then I have wasted about 167 days.

I also love manga, I read a lot of it online, I did a search in my web browser searching for the websites I read manga on, I have over 50,000 pages (again over the last 3 years). So if you figure it takes about 7 seconds per page to read then I have spent 243 days reading manga

I also play World of Warcraft, on that game they have a counter to see how much time you play, I have a mod that takes all that information among all my characters that I play and puts them together and over about 4 years I have put in about 125 days of play on that game.

I also have hard drives full of anime, several terabytes worth, I did the math based off file size compared to how long an episode was, I have spent well over 90 days watching anime over the last 3 years.

So if you break down those 4 things into one year segments, I spend about 56 days listening to music,  about 81 days a year reading manga online, about 31 days on World of Warcraft, and about 30 days a year watching manga on my hard drives. all together thats about 198 days a year on entertainment. now true some of that time can be combined … when I play World of Warcraft I listen to music, the same while I am reading manga, and often I go though manga pages a lot faster then 1 per every 7 seconds. But either way the numbers are STAGGERING

I encourage you all to do something similar to what I just did, Add up all the time you spend on entertainment (and the money), and I think you will be terrified with what you find.

Happily blind

This country is in danger.

The average american is over 112,000$ in debt. there are 307,006,550 americans (as of 2009 census). If you do the math, the american people owe about 34,384,733,600,000$.

The US debt is at 55,780,939,530,000$ (as of the time of writing this). If you add the national debt and the debt of the citizens together, you get 90,165,673,130,000$

We are truly living in a superficial world. We live in a world where the “money” we use is nothing but paper backed by a law, a world where we stick our worthless money into the superficial playpen of the stock market, hopping to get more money that in the end is just paper.

At some point the money has to run out, there is no way a debt of over 90 trillion is  something you can sweep under the rug, there will come a day to pay the piper. I would go so far as to say that that day will come soon, wake up america, we have built a house of cards, and the cards have already begun to fall!

Another side on the Iraq war

People like to talk about the Iraq war, they like to point out that it was an unjust war because we went in there looking for WMD’s. and I am getting sick of this …. lets get this strait:

America went to war because someone pushed us, they killed thousands of innocent people though terrorism. And when the terrorist wanted us to cower in fear we instead flexed our muscles.

Iraq was hiding the terrorists, they where supporting terrorist, in many ways the leadership in Iraq was a terrorists group!

When people say we went to war to stop Iraq from using WMD’s, I am reminded of the revolution that happened when america left england. when the declaration of independence was written, there was something like 27 reasons why we left, (The third being we didn’t want forced slavery of african americans) the 15th-ish reason was taxation without representation. now you ask people why we left england, and 99% of the time you will get the “taxation without representation” answer.

I dont know about other people, but when I think of the Iraq war, I think of the world trade center. I think about all those people calling out for justice. then I think of Iraq happily harboring a group that had declared all out war us, that alone was a good enough reason for the Iraq war. When someone declares war on you, do you turn a blind eye? do you pretend that it didn’t happen and hope it will go away? NO! its dangerous and irrational if you do that. Radical muslims have declared war on us, on 911 they threw down the gauntlet, we did not attack a helpless country, we attacked an enemy strong hold!

“An Unavoidable war is called justice. when brutality is the only option left, it is holy” - Niccol Machiavelli

so here it goes ^_^

So here is my first entry on this website, we will see how well it works. XD
